8 days morocco tour from Fes

DAY 1: FES – VOLUBILIS – CHEFCHAOUEN: 

We will start our 8-day tour from Fes and head west toward Meknes, a historical city known for its grand architecture and imperial past. There, we will visit Bab Mansour, a magnificent city gate. You will also explore the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the resting place of the famous Moroccan ruler. Then, From Meknes, we will continue to the nearby ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. We will spend time exploring the well-preserved archaeological site. Later, we will head through the Rif mountains to Chefchaouen. (We can stop for lunch anywhere). Overnight will be in a Riad.

DAY 2: CHEFCHAOUN – RABAT-CASABLANCA:

After having a delicious breakfast, we will leave the blue city to Rabat (the capital of Morocco), where we will visit Hassan Tower. It is an incomplete mosque intended to be the largest minaret in the world. Then, we will go to Oudaya Kasbah, where you will explore the imposing gate of Bab Oudaya and the winding streets of the Kasbah that will take you to Rabat’s oldest mosque, beautiful gardens, and exquisite museum. From there, we continue to Casablanca. The night will be in a hotel.

     DAY 3: CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH:

In the morning, we will explore some sites in the city, such as the largest mosque of Hassan II, which is unmissable. It is the largest mosque in Morocco, with the world’s tallest minaret at 210 meters. It is also the only mosque in Morocco that allows non-Muslims to visit., the United Nations square, and the coastal “Corniche” … Then, we will head to Marrakech, where you will have free time to stroll around the old city. Overnight will be in a hotel or riad.

DAY 4: FULL DAY TO VISIT MARRAKESH:

On the morning of the next day, with a local guide, you will visit the Menara Garden, a pool surrounded by flowerbeds that function as an irrigation system for the surrounding fields. The sightseeing tour will cover some spectacular sights: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Majorelle Gardens, the Bahia Palace, and the Dar Si Said Jewellery Palace Museum. Upon request, lunch will be in the medina followed by a stroll through the colorful bazaars of Marrakech.

DAY 5: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS MOUNTAINS – OUARZAZATE – DADES VALLEY:

The following morning, after having breakfast, we will head southeast through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, which offers a distant view of the mountains, heading towards the ancient Berber villages of the High Atlas. We will then visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO World Heritage Site), where several films like Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Pearl of the Nile, and The Sahara with Penelope Cruz have filmed in this spectacular scene. We will have lunch in one of the Kasbah restaurants. Afterward, we will continue our tour to Dades Valley, overnight in a hotel or riad.

DAY 6 : DADES VALLEY – TINJDAD – MERZOUGA SAHARA DESERT:

After breakfast, we will depart towards Erg Shebbi in Merzouga. Berber villages will be uncounted along the way. We will pass through Todra, Tenghir, Tinjdad, and Erfoud Gorges, where we will feel the start of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. We will then continue to Merzouga, where we’ll set off on a camel adventure through the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you will admire the view of the dunes. Before reaching the camp, you will get an opportunity to watch the sunset. We will spend our overnight in a luxury tent with drumming music in the middle of the Sahara. The dinner will be in the camp.

DAY 7: MERZOUGA – NOMADIC FAMILIES – KHAMLIA VILLAGE – ERG CHEBBI :

We will wake up early to have the opportunity to see the sunrise and enjoy the landscape. After a hearty breakfast, we will ride our camels back to Merzouga, where our driver is waiting for us. Then, we will continue along the road, where we can see nomadic settlements and learn their secrets and manners. Our next stop will be at an observation point to contemplate the Erg Chebbi hole. There, we can also see the limits between Morocco and Algeria. We will then make our way to the village of Kamilia, originally from Mali, where we will have a relaxing tea and listen to a concert of Gnawa spiritual music. Transfer to the hotel and have a free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel to admire the sunset. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.

DAY 8 : MERZOUGA – ARFOUD – IFRANE – FES:

In the morning, we will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise and have breakfast. After these joyous moments, we will travel to Errachidia via Erfoud, Aoufus, and the Ziz Valley, then stop to explore the Aoufus Oasis in the Tafilalte region. We will continue to Midelt via the Tizi-N’talghamt Pass and take a break for lunch. Immediately after lunch, we will head the road to Fes (medieval city) through the cedar forest near Azrou and the Middle Atlas Mountains with a chance to see the barbaric monkeys (monkeys). Before arriving in Fez, we can stop to see Ifran considered the cleanest city in Morocco, and then our 8-day tour ends by arriving in Fes.
