Day 1: Fes – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes:

We will depart from Fes. And head west toward Meknes, a historical city known for its grand architecture and imperial past. Upon arrival, we will visit Bab Mansour, a magnificent city gate that leads to the heart of Meknes. Then, we will explore the intricate Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the resting place of the famous Moroccan ruler. From Meknes, continue our journey to nearby the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. There, we will explore the well-preserved archaeological site, which includes impressive mosaics, Roman baths, and the Triumphal Arch of Caracalla. We will have lunch. And make our way back to Fes. Overnight in a Riad.

Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Merzouga:

In the morning, we travel to Midelt through the Atlas Mountains and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. We will pass by Ifrane, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft center specializing in cedar woodworking. We will arrive in Midelt for lunch. After lunch, we will travel to Erfoud and the desert. Once you reach the Erg Chebbi dunes, a little off-road will take you to the edge of the golden dunes, where the camels are waiting for you, Your luggage will be loaded into the four-wheel drive vehicle and taken to the camp, and you will be able to a beautiful camel ride through the dunes and admire the majestic Sahara sunset on the way to the camp. Upon arrival at the place, you will be greeted with tea and smiles. They will accompany you to their beautifully comfortable private tents with bathrooms and showers, where you can relax and unwind before dinner. After a delicious dinner, the fire will be lit, and a festive atmosphere will reign with the music of the staff and guests under the starry desert night. 

Day 3: Discover Merzouga Area:

We will wake up early to have the opportunity to see the sunrise and enjoy the landscape. After a hearty breakfast, we will ride our camels back to Merzouga, where our driver waits. Then, we will continue along the road, where we can see nomadic settlements and learn their secrets and manners. Our next stop will be at an observation point to contemplate the Erg Chebbi hole. There, we can also see the limits between Morocco and Algeria. We will then make our way to the village of Kamilia, originally from Mali, where we will have a relaxing tea and listen to a concert of Gnawa spiritual music. Transfer to the hotel and have a free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel to admire the sunset. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel. 

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Todgha Gorges – Dades Gorges:

After breakfast, we will leave Merzouga Desert, and stop in Rissani, where we will visit the day market (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday), Back on the paved roads, we will head to Erfoud, known for its fossil mining. From there, we will drive through Palm Grove and the Savannah Desert. We will stop for lunch. And then take a short walk around Todra Gorges, “the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco.” You will have the opportunity to hike along its valley. We will cross the Dades Valley, where you will see the majestic sand castles and the beautiful rock formations known as “monkey fingers.” The night will be in a riad or a hotel in the heart of the gorge.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Boutghrare – Skoura – Ouarzazate:

After breakfast, we will drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. The route through the Dades Valley is called the way of the thousand kasbahs, which offers numerous opportunities to take some of the best photographic shots of the trip. We will stop at Kalaa Mgouna, and continue to Skoura, where you will visit the Ameridil Kasbah, a well-preserved Kasbah in this area. Lunch will be at a traditional Moroccan restaurant overlooking the beautiful valley. Then you will head to Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night in a riad with dinner and breakfast.

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait ben haddou – Marrakech:

We will start from Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, and stop at the Atlas film studios. Then head to the UNESCO World Heritage site called “Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou,” classified since 1986. The Kasbah Ait Benhaddou is one of the many places that have been a natural setting for many films like “Alexender, Gladiator, Babel…” We will have lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we will head to Marrakesh through the Tizi n’techka pass. In the end, we will transfer to your accommodation in Marrakech.
